2nd EU-Korea Conference on Green Technology – Solutions for a Green Future in Science and in Industry

Back-to-back to its Annual Conference, the KORANET consortium is organising a conference which picks up the thematic focus of the Second Joint Call on Green Technologies. The conference serves as a kick-off meeting for the projects which were selected for funding but it is also open for interested stakeholders and the public in general.

Dear Colleague,

We are delighted to welcome you to participate in the 2nd Korea-EU Conference on Green Technology (KORANET 2012) in Espoo, Finland, 7-8 November 2012. The themes of the conference will cover three main areas of Green Technologies:

  • Reduction of carbon footprint,
  • Technologies for sustainable development and
  • Renewable energies and energy efficiency

and pave the way for new cooperative research between South Korea and the EU.

The conference is free of charge to all participants.


Green Technology is the hot topic in science and in industry worldwide. World’s economy and population expansion, the ever-rising need of energy, climate change that affects the environment and food production as well as pollution of environment are issues that need to be addressed. At the KORANET Green Technology conference, key specialists from Korea and the European area will present current achievements from their fields of expertise, and provide a platform for the discussion of future visions for the development of the technology.

The focal point of this conference is the kick-off of joint projects with researchers from Austria, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and South Korea. The projects are funded by ministries and funding institutions from the before-mentioned countries using a newly established funding mechanism developed under KORANET.
