  KORANET Closing Event and Policy Workshop

  More than four years ago the KORANET project was started as a response to a demand for improved and increased STI co-operation between Korea and Europe. The KORANET Closing Event which is open to the public will review the project's achievements and discuss the challenges which had to be overcome. The lessons learned as well as current developments in both Korea and Europe will be used as a basis for a view ahead at the future design of EU-Korean cooperation and the main strategic priorities which have to be addressed.

  2nd EU-Korea Conference on Green Technology – Solutions for a Green Future in Science and in Industry

  KORANET at the Euroscience Open Forum 2012

  The Euroscience Open Forum (ESOF) is Europe’s largest, general science meeting which is held in a leading European city every two years.   Partnering Event to launch the KORANET Joint Call on Green Technologies

  Based on the positive experiences of the 2010 Pilot Joint Call on Life-long Health, the aim of the second KORANET Joint Call is to bring together Korean and European researchers to collaborate in a joint project of mutual interest in the thematic field of Green Technologies. the Joint Call is open for proposal submission from 6 February to 6 April 2012. To officially launch the Joint Call, a Partnering Event is organised on 6 and 7 February 2012 in Seoul/Korea.

  Entrepreneurship Seminar for Early Career Researchers

  The two-day Entrepreneurship Seminar for Early Career Researchers was organised by KORANET in Daejeon/Seoul on 20 and 21 October 2011. Its aim was to provide opportunities for early career researchers from the EU and Korea to meet face-to-face for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and information on entrepreneurship skills for nanotechnology and other disciplines, and to explore future areas of research and collaboration.

  Workshop 'Results and perspectives – Paving the way for future S&T cooperation with South Korea'

  The KORANET workshop "Results and perspectives – Paving the way for future S&T cooperation with South Korea" was held in Brussels on 29 June 2011. The event brought together about 50 representatives from research ministries, funding agencies and programme owners from 14 European countries and South Korea as well as from the European Commission and the OECD. The objective of the workshop was to present the KORANET project achievements and the status quo of EU-Korean cooperation, thus setting the framework for the discussions concerning the future of this cooperation and the launch of the second KORANET Joint Call for proposals.

  The first annual KORANET conference took place on 14 October 2009 in Seoul/Korea. It focused on the topic of 'Green Technology - Sustainable Energy Solutions' that is high on the agenda in both Europe and Korea. The conference was preceeded by two days of project meetings and followed by scientif visits to several research institutions.

  KORANET kick-off meeting

  KORANET, an ERA-NET with Korea, was officially launched during a kick-off meeting in Bonn/Germany on 16-17 February 2009. The project is coordinated by the International Bureau of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and is funded under the 7th Research Framework Programme of the European Community.
